Insights on What Make this Digital Marketing Services Company a Success
Cindy is a Personal Assistant to the COO of Holistic Web Presence and Head of Human Resources. In this article, she shares some insights on what makes this Digital Marketing Services company a Success.
As Sonja’s number one, my main priority is to lighten her load whenever possible.
- I handle the administrative financial duties such as accounts receivable/payable and reconciling QuickBooks, payroll, maintaining revenue spreadsheets, tracking business and health expenses.
- I head up Human Resources which entails: employee onboarding; tax forms, confidentiality, and secrecy agreements, offer letters, setup of OneDrive folders, and timesheets. In general, help integrate the new employee and make them feel comfortable with our systems and norms.
- I edit articles written for the web, purchase images and maintain the image library.
1. I would have to say the number one learning experience for me was how agile and flexible I needed to be in this young company. Things happen very quickly in this industry and you must be quick and well-coordinated.
I witnessed this on the rare occasion of a client’s site going down – everything that was currently being worked on came to an immediate halt and all energies were turned into fixing the issue – Tim and Sonja jump on and sort issues quickly, they take this business very seriously.
If a potential client calls and fits well with our company goals, the immediate setup of the client is moved forward at a quick pace. We get the ball rolling quickly here at HWP.
2. Another thing I’ve learned is that in the running of a company, you must be open and welcoming of change, it’s inevitable, especially in this industry. New systems, applications, or insights from SEO seminars, equal constant change, and innovation.
The status quo is in constant flux, we are open to new thoughts, new ways of working, and new business ideas. The owners embrace change. It is the first word of advice a newcomer is given, either by the owners or colleagues. The philosophy is to greet each problem as a challenge; a problem is just a solution waiting to happen. Always look on the bright side of life – that exuberance sets the tone for the company.
3. Lastly, I’ve learned how technically difficult working in the back end of websites can be – mostly through observation. There is so much that goes into building a website and then constantly optimizing the site to compete in the search engine world. We are lucky to have such talented developers, designers, writers, and client digital marketing specialists to drive client success. And surprisingly, even though we all work remotely, we are a tight team that works very well together.
